Reduce vulnerabilty by life skills

What is life skill?
  1. Life skill is education which develops knowledge, attitudes and especially skills needed to take positive actions on social and health issues and conditions.
  2. Life skills is a term often used to describe the particular type of psychosocial and interpersonal skills addressed in life skills-based education (and skills-based health education), along with knowledge and attitudes - for example, effective communication and interpersonal skills, creative thinking, negotiation skills decision making and critical thinking skills, and coping with emotions and self-management skills.
  3. You also need life skill to stay safe. In fact “life skills” can be life saving skills.

Express your feeling

You felling are important, but other people may not understand how you feel unless you tell them. Learn how to let others know what you think and want by being direct and by using statements that start with “I”-I wish,  I would like, I need, I don’t like…” practice using” I” statements until you feel comfortable saying them.

Argue you point

You have good reasons for felling the way you do, and important to learn how to communicate those reasons without putting down others people or making they feel bad without being unkind, aggressive or overly critical.
Critical analytical skills
Everyone has beliefs about right and wrong, good and bad. These beliefs are called principles. Sometimes, you may know exactly what your principles are. But at other times, thinks aren’t as clear and you may have to spend some time carefully thinking through what is right for you and why. If you are clear about what you think is right- why you do or do not want to do something- you’ll be able to standup for what you believe in. and ultimately standing up for your beliefs will earn you respect.

Decision making skills
Make good decision under pressure. As you become an adult, you start having to make more decisions for yourself. Sometimes, other people may be urging you to do one thing, and you might fell tempted to just go along. But making good decision means carefully weighing all your choices and thinking about the consequences of each one. It can be hard to do this if someone is rushing you or putting pressure on you to decide quickly. One important pat of making good decision is being clear about your principle and your overall goals in life.
